Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Floresville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Calallen Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Tigers/Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Floresville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-15, 15-25, 25-18, 15-8.
Amelia Hernandez was nothing short of spectacular for Calallen: she had 42 digs and two aces. Those 42 digs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Allie Duke also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Floresville's loss dropped their record down to 33-14. As for Calallen, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 36-7.
Floresville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calallen, they will square off against La Vernia on Monday.
