Softball Recap: Gahr Falls Short of Jserra Catholic in the Playoffs

Gahr and JSerra Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Gahr had to settle for second. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Considering the last time the Gladiators couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Isabelle Gonzalez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

Gahr's loss dropped their record down to 13-13-3. As for JSerra Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-13.

Gahr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for JSerra Catholic, they will face off against Sonora at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
