Recap: Ocoee Knights vs. Hagerty Huskies
The Ocoee Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Hagerty 92-67. Winning may never get old, but Ocoee sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ocoee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Smith, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Justynn Thomas, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists.
Despite the defeat, Hagerty saw an underclassman step up: Julian Declou scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Asa Kohn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Ocoee's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Hagerty, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocoee will take on Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerty won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Seminole has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,282 points over their last 18 matchups.
