Basketball Game Preview: Greeley Central Wildcats vs. Thompson Valley Eagles

The Greeley Central Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Thompson Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Greeley Central duked it out withPomona last Saturday. Greeley Central lost 88-67 to Pomona. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (64), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Greeley Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hunter Wilke, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 22 points, and Daniel Martinez, who posted 14 points and seven steals. Martinez has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Steward, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Thompson Valley's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Saturday. They fell 54-43 to Mesa Ridge. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Thompson Valley fell to 4-1. As for Greeley Central, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
