Soccer Game Preview: St. Amant vs. Barbe

The St. Amant Gators and the Barbe Buccaneers will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Amant's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. Amant is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since November 19. They and East Ascension finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Barbe faced Bossier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Barbe never let Bossier onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

The win was the third in a row for Barbe, bringing their record for this year to 8-3-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. St. Amant's draw gives them a new season record of 3-5-2.

St. Amant beat Barbe 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does St. Amant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Barbe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
