Basketball Recap: Bellaire Falls Short of Fort Frye in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bellaire couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Fort Frye Cadets on Saturday, falling 55-29. The game marked the Big Reds' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bellaire's loss came despite strong showings from Eliana Mason and Tamya Morgan. Mason shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points, while Morgan posted six points and six rebounds. Mason is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played.

With the defeat, Bellaire broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Fort Frye, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Bellaire does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Frye, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-35 win against Belpre on the 27th.
