Softball Game Preview: Everett Seagulls vs. Jackson Timberwolves

Everett is 0-7 against Jackson since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Seagulls will host the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Everett took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Marysville Getchell with a sharp 9-3 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson). Everything went their way against Roosevelt on Saturday as they made off with a 13-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won four in a row.

Clara Dorgan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Dorgan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Nicole Burnett was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madi Jacquot, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Jackson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Everett, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
