Baseball Recap: Le Mars Bulldogs vs. Jefferson Yellowjackets
Le Mars extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-20 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-2 loss on Tuesday.
As for Jefferson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-21. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.
For Jefferson's part, Nate Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Anderson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
