Preview: Summit Tigers vs. Coal Ridge Titans
Summit is 3-0 against Coal Ridge since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Summit Tigers on the road again and play against the Coal Ridge Titans at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Summit was beaten by Delta 60-24. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Summit in their matchups with Delta: they've now lost three in a row.
Summit's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Doussouba Sylla, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Katelynn Smith who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Coal Ridge entered their tilt with Steamboat Springs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Coal Ridge came out on top against Steamboat Springs by a score of 45-32 on Saturday.
Summit's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Coal Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Summit took their victory against Coal Ridge in their previous meeting on January 12th by a conclusive 61-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summit since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
