Softball Recap: Christian Educational Consortium's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Christian Educational Consortium waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the LKY Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-3 last Saturday.

Laylah Bucheit made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Christian Educational Consortium got a massive performance out of Mallory Raley3, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave Raley3 a new career-high. Ruby Swift was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Christian Educational Consortium kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.

Christian Educational Consortium's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for LKY, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
