Basketball Recap: Westlake Wolverines vs. North Point Eagles
Westlake lost against North Point back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Westlake Wolverines took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Point Eagles. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ethan Minkah and Waylin Duhon, Jr. certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Minkah posted seven points and four blocks, while Duhon, Jr. earned six points. Those four blocks gave Minkah a new career-high.
Even though they lost, Westlake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.
Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for North Point, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
Coming up, Westlake will challenge Thomas Stone at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Point, they will face off against Patuxent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Point is facing Patuxent at the right time seeing as Patuxent is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
