Softball Game Preview: Benton Central Bison vs. Covington Trojans

The Benton Central Bison will square off against the Covington Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Benton Central and four for Covington.

Benton Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lebanon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bison fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Monday.

Benton Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Linder, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Covington lost 16-6 to West Vigo on Monday.

Haley Holycross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Preslee Shaw was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Benton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
