Baseball Recap: Ripon Tigers vs. Waupun Warriors
Ripon had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it five. They lost 13-0 to the Waupun Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 on Tuesday.
As for Waupun, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Considering they have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Waupun's part, Jake Krueger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Krueger has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Waupun got a massive performance out of Landon Richter, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bryant Ferris was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
