Basketball Recap: Malachi Light Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Red Lion Christian Academy

Delmarva Christian won the last time they faced Red Lion Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Delmarva Christian Royals' way against the Red Lion Christian Academy Lions as the Delmarva Christian Royals made off with a 55-32 win. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Delmarva Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Light, who posted ten points and three steals. Light has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Barbrow, who put up nine points and three steals.

Delmarva Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Delmarva Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Similarly, Red Lion Christian Academy (ranked 52nd) will meet Wilmington Friends (ranked eighth) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
