Softball Recap: Parkview Vikings vs. Johnson Creek Bluejays
Parkview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-11. They lost 17-1 to the Johnson Creek Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 two weeks ago.
Parkview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mylee Sorg, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Sorg has hit this season.
As for Johnson Creek, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
On Johnson Creek's side, they got a massive performance out of Cari Armstrong, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Armstrong a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sariah Witterholt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parkview will square off against rival Deerfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Johnson Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe Palmyra-Eagle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
