Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brayden Maple and Cade Kaiser Lead Batesville to Victory

Batesville won the last time they faced East Central and things went their way on Saturday too. The Batesville Bulldogs secured a 60-56 W over the East Central Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Leading Batesville to victory were Cade Kaiser and Brayden Maple. Kaiser dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards, while Maple went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Kaiser has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hughes, who posted eight points and five assists.

East Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eli Sehlhorst, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points. Joel Richter was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Batesville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Batesville will welcome South Ripley at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Batesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season. As for East Central, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hauser at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hauser's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
