Baseball Recap: East Liverpool Potters vs. Beaver Local Beavers
East Liverpool had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it eight. They lost 8-1 to the Beaver Local Beavers. Potters fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Beavers since on Wednesday.
As for Beaver Local, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-13. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024 (when they won 11-2).
For Beaver Local's part, Paxton Grimes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Grimes has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
