Softball Game Preview: Charlestown Pirates vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers

The Charlestown Pirates will square off against the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Charlestown sitting on four straight victories and Evansville Memorial on five.

Charlestown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Franklin County.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Evansville Memorial challenged Jasper on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-3.

Brianna Canaan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mallory Wollenmann, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ellie Eden, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Evansville Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Charlestown, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.
