Baseball Recap: Tough Loss for Pinnacle

Pinnacle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Green River Pirates, falling 15-0. The Panthers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest, having scored no less than 10 runs in the two matchups prior, but the Pirates' pitchers proved too tough.

For Green River's part, Jesus Escalante made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The seven batters struck out were his most since at least 2024. Escalante was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 while posting 3 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 stolen base.

Pinnacle has now lost 13 of their last 15 games on the road. That leaves them at an 0-16 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Wayne and 4-0 Piute (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81% over those games). As for Green River, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-18.
