Baseball Recap: Green Bay Preble Comes Up Short

Green Bay Preble was the 6-3 winner over Pulaski when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Raiders on Saturday.

Branson Kent was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

On the hitting side, Green Bay Preble saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harrison Selk, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Selk has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Marco Aregoni also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Green Bay Preble's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Pulaski, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Bay Preble will square off against Sheboygan South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Redwings at the right time seeing as the Redwings are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Pulaski, they will take on De Pere at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
