Basketball Game Preview: Scott Beavers vs. Goodland Cowboys

The Scott Beavers will be home for the holidays to greet the Goodland Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated after four-games, but that won't be the case come Tuesday.

Scott will head into Saturday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 22) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Garden City out 64-62.

Jackson Rumford was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Alex Tarango was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goodland). They blew past Colby 75-50 on Saturday. Fans of the Cowboys have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Goodland's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.1 points. As for Scott, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Scott didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Goodland in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. Does Scott have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goodland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
