Baseball Recap: Robinson Drops Season-High Score on Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Robinson walked away with it. They put the hurt on Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine with a sharp 20-1 win on Monday. The Maroons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Graysen Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Robinson's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 6-3 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Brown was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with six RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Blake Green was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylon Murray, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Robinson now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Robinson is taking a road trip to take on Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
