Basketball Recap: Shiloh Rine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pioneer over Tri-County

After flying high against North White last Saturday, Pioneer came back down to earth. The Pioneer Panthers fell to the Tri-County Cavaliers 46-40. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shiloh Rine, who posted eight points and eight boards. Rine is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last nine games he's played. Noah Miller was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pioneer was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their third loss (out of ten games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Foster, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Foster, who earned 11 points.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Tri-County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Pioneer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 28-20 victory against North Newton on the 5th. As for Tri-County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-18 win against North White on the 5th.
