Soccer Game Preview: Helix vs. Steele Canyon

The Helix Highlanders will face off against the Steele Canyon Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Helix's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Steele Canyon has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Helix had just enough and edged Santana out 2-1. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Sultans are ranked 601st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Steele Canyon had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Monte Vista on Friday as Steele Canyon made off with a 4-1 victory. Considering the Cougars' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Steele Canyon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Helix, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.
