Soccer Recap: Burlingame Takes a Loss

Burlingame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Menlo-Atherton Bears. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 809th, while the Bears are ranked 87th).

Burlingame's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Menlo-Atherton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlingame will venture away from home to square off against South San Francisco at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Menlo-Atherton, they are taking a road trip to take on Carlmont at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Menlo-Atherton's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Carlmont's offense will have their work cut out for them.
