Basketball Recap: Mountain View Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Caleb Penaflorida and Daniel Malo

Mountain View Academy lost against Eastside College Prep back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mountain View Academy Mustangs came up short against the Eastside College Prep Panthers, falling 66-42.

Despite the defeat, Mountain View Academy had strong showings from Daniel Malo, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 24 points and three steals, and Caleb Penaflorida, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Malo a new career-high in points.

Mountain View Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Eastside College Prep, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Mountain View Academy has already played their next contest (against Mid-Peninsula), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastside College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-46 win against Pinewood on the 31st.
