Penfield has gone a perfect 8-0 against Spencerport recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Rangers at 5:00 p.m. Penfield is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Penfield and McQuaid Jesuit had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Patriots fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by just one run.

Jacob Murray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Spencerport fell victim to Hilton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Cadets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Matt Green was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Spencerport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Lamberton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Spencerport suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Penfield, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Penfield took their victory against Spencerport in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
