Softball Recap: Spring Woods Tigers vs. Sharpstown Apollos
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waltrip, Spring Woods was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sharpstown Apollos a 17-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Nuruin Batres made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Batres was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Addie Ceniceros was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Karen Mancia, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
