Woodcrest Christian came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Linfield Christian Lions, falling 3-0. The Royals' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Woodcrest Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Woodcrest Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Russell had 19 digs. Russell has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Woodcrest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Linfield Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Woodcrest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Ontario Christian on the 2nd. Hopefully Linfield Christian paid attention to the Royals' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
