Baseball Recap: Webster Schroeder Takes a Loss

Webster Schroeder extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 6-6 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Rush-Henrietta, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Six seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Rush-Henrietta's part, Mason Davey made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, Davey posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oliver Wright, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Austin Yageric, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Webster Schroeder will face off against Irondequoit at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rush-Henrietta, they will head out to face off against Gates Chili at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
