Middlesex is 8-2 against Mathews since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Middlesex is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Middlesex will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Monday, then bounced right back against King & Queen Central on Wednesday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Royal Tigers. The matchup was close at halftime, but Middlesex turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

They hit King & Queen Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Wyatt St. Louis (2), Grant Walden, and Kai Evans.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mathews' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to West Point. The game was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Mathews it sure didn't stay that way.

Mathews' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2-1. As for Middlesex, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Middlesex beat Mathews by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
