Football Recap: Arbor View Sets Scoring Season-High Against Desert Pines

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arbor View). They claimed a resounding 54-6 win over the Desert Pines Jaguars. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Arbor View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Priscilla Garcia out in front who threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another receiver making a difference was Jayda Emil, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Arbor View's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Karah Foss with two sacks.

Arbor View has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points per game. As for Desert Pines, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Arbor View will host Durango at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Garcia and Yarih Carrillo. As for Desert Pines, they are taking a road trip to take on Chaparral at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral's defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so Desert Pines' offense will have their work cut out for them.
