Baseball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

Sycamore blew Yorkville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Yorkville got their revenge. The Spartans wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Foxes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Jack Block made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Davis Collie, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sycamore now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Yorkville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sycamore will challenge Boylan Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Yorkville, they will take on Niles Notre Dame at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
