Basketball Recap: Mary Persons Falls Despite Big Games from Dee Grier and Braylen Perry

Mary Persons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 40-28 to the LaGrange Grangers. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Mary Persons had strong showings from Braylen Perry, who posted eight points and three steals, and Dee Grier, who had five points along with seven assists and four steals. Those three steals gave Perry a new career-high.

Mary Persons' defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for LaGrange, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Mary Persons wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-41 win against Jackson on the 18th. LaGrange has also already played their next matchup, a 63-60 victory against Troup County on the 18th.
