Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Gets the Win

Archbishop Carroll was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Upper Darby Royals, sneaking past 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Archbishop Carroll got a great performance from Max Barnes as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Archbishop Carroll let Jalyn Tidwell and Nick Gilroy run wild. Tidwell went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Gilroy scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Archbishop Carroll's record now sits at 2-3. As for Upper Darby, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Carroll will challenge Cardinal O'Hara at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Upper Darby, they will square off against Lower Merion at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
