Basketball Recap: Jonah Marsh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Father Capodanno over Lifespring Academy

Father Capodanno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 50-33 bruising from the LifeSpring Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grunts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-36 back in December of 2024.

Several Grunts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonah Marsh, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Marsh a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Canon Capps, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Father Capodanno smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Father Capodanno's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for LifeSpring Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Father Capodanno has already played their next contest (against New Life Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. LifeSpring Academy will welcome Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
