Football Game Preview: Melrose vs. Wilmington

Wilmington will challenge Melrose on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. The odds don't look promising for Wilmington, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.

If Wilmington were riding high off their 35-10 takedown of Bedford two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Wilmington took a 9-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakefield Memorial. Wilmington's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the match before.

Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Melrose, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 win over Watertown.

Melrose's victory lifted them to 2-1 while Wilmington's loss dropped them down to 2-1. We'll find out if Melrose can add another positive mark to their record or if Wilmington can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Melrose's step.
