Soccer Recap: Friday's Victory Is Athens' Fifth in Last Six Outings

Athens won the last time they faced Van and things went their way on Friday too. The Athens Hornets never let the Van Vandals onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Anna Stovall was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Athens has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six games. As for Van, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-5-1.
