Basketball Recap: Toutle Lake Find Success

On Wednesday, the Toutle Lake Ducks escaped with a win against the Raymond/South Bend Ravens by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. Given the Ducks' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Ravens are ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Raymond/South Bend lost, don't look at Ava Pine-Isaksen. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and 14 rebounds. Pine-Isaksen has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassie Koski, who earned eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Toutle Lake and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Raymond/South Bend, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Toutle Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-36 win against Onalaska on the 19th. As for Raymond/South Bend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-54 victory against Mossyrock on the 20th.
