Baseball Recap: Pike Road Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Pike Road Patriots came up short against the Pelham Panthers and fell 11-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pike Road saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinton Robinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Coleman Russell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Pike Road's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pelham, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Coming up, Pike Road will venture away from home to square off against Tuscaloosa County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pelham, they will host Mountain Brook at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Mountain Brook 3.1, Pelham 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
