Basketball Recap: Gervais Comes Up Short

Gervais was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-42 defeat at the hands of the Sisters Outlaws. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Outlaws are ranked 42nd).

Gervais' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sisters, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Gervais and East Linn Christian Academy will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. East Linn Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Gervais surely won't give up without a fight. Sisters will take on Henley in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sisters knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Henley likes a good challenge.
