Baseball Game Preview: Northampton Yellowjackets vs. Arcadia Firebirds

Northampton hasn't had much luck against Arcadia recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will square off against the Firebirds at 4:00 p.m. Northampton has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northampton is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They lost 15-6 to Nandua.

Lucas Kindt and Brock Leland stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kindt went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Leland got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Trent Ferebee, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arcadia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Chincoteague 5-4. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Ponies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Northampton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Arcadia, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Northampton might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Arcadia when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
