Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Odion Otoijaghale and Brooklyn Wong Lead Tomas to Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Tomas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Freeman Golden Eagles.

Tomas was led to victory by Brooklyn Wong and Odion Otoijaghale. Wong went 7-for-16 on her way to 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Otoijaghale shot 40% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals. Otoijaghale is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Faith Bell was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Freeman's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Coe, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Journee Guidry, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Tomas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points over those games. As for Freeman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Tomas has already played their next matchup, a 40-37 defeat against George Ranch on the 24th. As for Freeman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-23 loss against Bridgeland on the 24th.
