Baseball Recap: Newman International Academy Takes a Loss

The Newman International Academy Warriors came up short against the International Leadership of Texas Keller Eagles on Saturday and fell 6-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Newman International Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rey Galvan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Newman International Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3-1. As for International Leadership of Texas Keller, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newman International Academy will square off against Nazarene Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for International Leadership of Texas Keller, they will face off against Fort Worth Country Day at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
