Preview: Flanagan-Cornell Falcons vs. LeRoy Panthers
Flanagan-Cornell is 2-8 against LeRoy since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Flanagan-Cornell Falcons are on the road again and plays the LeRoy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Flanagan-Cornell took a serious blow against Fieldcrest, falling 67-27. Flanagan-Cornell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Despite the defeat, Flanagan-Cornell had strong showings from Kesler Collins, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks, and Mason Rich, who scored five points along with two steals.
Flanagan-Cornell struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, LeRoy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-41 to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
Flanagan-Cornell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for LeRoy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Things could have been worse for Flanagan-Cornell, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to LeRoy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Flanagan-Cornell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
