Football Game Recap: Independence vs. Maquoketa

Independence simply couldn't be stopped on Friday, as they easily beat Maquoketa 55-19. Independence were heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why.

Independence's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 48 points in the first half. Maquoketa came up with 13 to make it 48-13 heading into the break. The Independence defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup. The win bumped their record up to 3-0. Maquoketa are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.

Next week Independence take on Center Point-Urbana at 7:30 PM. Independence have bulldozed their previous 3 opponents, so Center Point-Urbana might have their hands full. As for Maquoketa, they will face off against Mt. Vernon.
