Baseball Game Preview: Greeneview Rams vs. Perry Pirates

The Greeneview Rams will face off against the Perry Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greeneview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Greeneview is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Urbana just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hillclimbers by a score of 7-6.

Trevor Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Meanwhile, Perry had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Hawks. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Perry's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Greeneview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Greeneview couldn't quite finish off Perry when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
