Baseball Recap: Currituck County Triumphs

Currituck County won the last time they faced First Flight and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights came out on top against the Nighthawks by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Dom Doran made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Doran wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dom Espinoza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Currituck County's record is now 17-5. As for First Flight, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Currituck County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
