Volleyball Preview: Memorial Mustangs vs. Cy-Fair Bobcats
Memorial and Cy-Fair are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2020, but not for long. The Memorial Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Cy-Fair Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Memorial got the win against Cypress Falls by a conclusive 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-20, 25-10.
Meanwhile, Cy-Fair waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 3-2.
Cy-Fair took Jersey Village into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-12, 20-25, 25-21, 18-16.
Cy-Fair can attribute much of their success to Anna Solis, who had 15 digs, and Pearson Noone, who had seven digs.
Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 25-13 record this season. As for Cy-Fair, the victory got them back to even at 18-18.
Memorial skirted past Cy-Fair 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for Memorial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
