Softball Recap: Southwest Legacy Comes Up Short

Southwest Legacy was the 5-2 winner over Winn when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Titans fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

Novalee Gloria was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emma Puente, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Southwest Legacy's record now sits at 3-16. As for Winn, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.

Coincidentally, Southwest Legacy and Winn will both be playing McCollum the next time they take the field. The Mavericks will head out to face the Cowboys at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Titans will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
